Opportunities for visiting PhD students
We typically host visiting PhD students from European countries for a minimum period of 6 months – and in some cases up to 18 months. Students can undertake a variety of different projects in the group, ranging from organic medicinal chemistry and chemical biology to structural cell biology and biophysics of protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. Projects conducted while visiting the CIulli Lab may relate more or less directly to the one from your home University. Regardless, it is expected that your project while visiting the Ciulli Lab will lead to substantial body of work to be included as a Chapter or Addendum in your thesis, and potentially ultimately into a publication.
Example of PhD students from Europe who have visited the lab in the past or are currently visiting our group include:
- Jonathan Ramírez Cárdenas
- Patricia Blanco Gabella
- Simon Krols
- Ester Morreale
- Chiara Maniaci
- Mattia Cocco
- Elvira Bruno
- Vittoria Zoppi
- Miriam Girardini
- Sofia Domingos
- Alessandra Cipriano
- Daniela Tomaselli
- Claudia Trivisani
- Martina Pierri
Many of them have contributed significantly to many group’s publications and have had their names featured as co-authors in such publications, sometimes even as first authors.
