Alessandra joined the Ciulli group in February 2019 as a visiting PhD student. Alessandra graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 2016 at the University of Salerno (Italy) after an experimental thesis on the design and synthesis of new barbituric inhibitors of lysine acetyltransferase p300. In the same year, under the supervision of Prof. Sabrina Castellano and Prof. Gianluca Sbardella, she started a PhD program in Drug Discovery and Development at the University of Salerno. Her PhD project is focused on the design, synthesis and biochemical evaluation of cell-active chemical probes for bromodomain-containing proteins.
She joined the Ciulli group with the aim of deepen her knowledge in medicinal chemistry and in the PROTAC field, developing new PROTACs able to better clarify the role of BET proteins.
Outside the lab life, Alessandra enjoys watching movies, reading, travelling and spending time with friends.
