I come from Messina, one of the three most important city of Sicily, in Italy. I obtained my Master degree in Pharmaceutical chemistry and technology (2013) at the University of Messina. My thesis project originated from a collaboration with Prof. Robert Hider at the King’s College of London, where i spent 6 months on the erasmus Placement program. I worked on the development of novel iron chelators as potential drugs for the treatment of parkinson’s disease. I did my PhD at the University of Messina, course of Chemical Science: Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical food, Chemistry and Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Romeo. In 2014 I joined the Ciulli group due to the multidisciplinary work of this group, and intending to improve my knowledge and expertises in Chemical biology. I obtained my PhD in February 2017. Outside the lab, I like dance, beading, read, spend time out with friends and family.
