The Hearing Voices Network Dundee is a local service user-led charity that aims to seek to improve the wellbeing and quality of life for those for whom hearing voices is a valid experience.
Hearing Voices provides support to voice hearers via a range of activities. Befriending and mentoring is available through its Bridging the Gap Project and there are various self-help groups. Individuals can also get involved in volunteering to help promote independence and increase their confidence. These activities enable members to develop their personal and social skills whilst simultaneously promoting recovery from severe and enduring mental illness.
The Network’s HAVEN also provides social activities which members and staff participate in. One of the first things that a person can lose when becoming mentally ill is their social skills and their ability to communicate. Therefore, social integration is fundamental in our members recovery.
