Report
The 2007 Dave Mallion Memorial Match with our friends at Norwood CC ended in a tie. Just as it did last year. What are the chances of that happening?? DUSCC batted first and recovered from losing 2 wickets in the first over to post a score of 112 for 6. Mark Stephenson played impressively for 27, as did Miles Dixon (on debut for DUSCC) for 21no. Scott Rodgers, seemingly familiar with the bowling, scored 32 at high speed. In Norwood’s reply, as usual, there were frequent bowling changes to ensure that everyone got a go, (and perhaps prove why we don’t turn to some of them more often in the first place…) and Scott Rodgers bowled that crucial final over. Mention should be made of Gordon Galloway, President of Norwood, who belied his years to bowl 3 overs and open the batting with 14 before retiring, according to the Norwood scorebook, ‘puffed out’.
