Report

After last week’s washout it was good to get out onto a good Forthill pitch in pleasant weather, but DUSCC came a distant second in this game, this result reverting to type after a Dennis Petrie-inspired win last year. Dennis is currently in Australia and it seems we missed his keenness to turn it on against his own club… After an early Miles Dixon wicket a vast second wicket partnership of 124 put the game well beyond our reach. A 4 over spell by debutant Simon Immanual showed some promise but his first and last overs rather ruined his figures. In the death overs Ross Mackay (3-25) and Blair Smith (2-23) bowled commendably well, all catching chances were taken and a superb run out from Miles gave some belated respectability to the scorecard.

We never looked like chasing down the target but Richard Adelman continued to show his ability while propping up the top order, and Miles and Alan MacDonald put together a good partnership of 48 after we had collapsed to 65-6.
