Report
DUSCC got the 2012 season off to a chilly start, with a 45 run defeat to Doocot Park, renamed and remodelled from the various Perth teams that played at the ground up to 2011, but still containing a few of the guys we’ve come to know and enjoy playing against when these fixtures were against Almond Valley. Donning the thermal layers to bowl first, 7 DUSCC bowlers turned their arms creakily over with limited success, Harshal Deshmukh and Andy Evans taking wickets. On debut Chris Thistlethwaite kept wicket tidily, conceding no byes. A total of 120 did not look impossible to chase and Richard Adelman batted purposefully until he was fired out leg before, having hit the cover off the ball, by a trigger happy Blair, the fastest umpiring finger in the east of Scotland 🙂 Andy Evans played some pleasing shots over the top but DUSCC started and remained well behind the required run rate and ended up at 75-7 after their 20 overs.
