Report
DUSCC snatched an improbable win in this friendly against St Andrews Staff staged at a blustery Riverside ground on a somewhat ropey pitch. Having been inserted, DUSCC lost early wickets and it took an impressive and gutsy stay from Willie Anderson’s 11 year old son Alex, guesting for DUSCC, to provide some adhesion to the innings. John Pravin provided acceleration with some impressive hitting, and late innings runs from Steve Boarder helped DUSCC to 114. In reply, St Andrews survived the loss of 2 early wickets to Mark Sauberlich to build to 91-2 and a seemingly impregnable position. However Willie and Richard Miller bowled cannily, taking pace off the ball, and scoring became a far more difficult proposition. Steve chipped in with 3 late wickets as the St Andrews chase closed on 108.
