Miguel Torres Ramos is originally from Córdoba, a city in southern Spain. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Córdoba (2021) and completed a Master’s degree in Translational Biomedical Research at the same university (2022). He is currently pursuing his PhD in the Biomedicine program at the University of Córdoba, supported by a competitive FPU fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. His research, carried out in the laboratory of Professor Marco Antonio Calzado, focuses on identifying new substrates of the protein kinase DYRK2 involved in the regulation of cell proliferation and the cell cycle. In his free time, he enjoys running, socializing with friends, and watching sports.
