Rubén graduated with a degree in Pharmacy and a Master’s in Drug R&D from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He completed his PhD in 2023 in the group of Prof. Sotelo, focusing on multicomponent chemistry applied to the design of small molecules. After a short postdoctoral stint at Uppsala University, he was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the Xunta de Galicia. In January 2025, he joined Alessio’s group as part of his fellowship. Outside of the lab, Rubén enjoys traveling, reading, and playing basketball.
