Profile

Liam received his BSc in Biomolecular Science from the University of St Andrews in 2015. Following his undergraduate studies, Liam spent three months in Tarragona as a summer fellow at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), working with Prof Pau Ballester on the development of dimerising supramolecular capsules. Liam then moved to London to complete an MRes in Drug Design at University College London where his research project focussed on the on the synthesis of small molecule mimics of cell-penetrating peptides with Prof Dave Selwood. Liam remained at University College London to study for a PhD with Prof Helen Hailes and Prof Sanjib Bhakta, focusing on the development of antitubercular drugs. He then moved to the University of Glasgow to work with Dr David France on the development of antiviral PROTACs. In November 2022 Liam joined the AC-BI team in Dundee as a medicinal chemist.
