Profile

Gemma completed her MChem in Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde in 2019. During this time, she undertook a years industrial position as a research associate at Heptares Therapeutics in Hatfield. Following on from Gemma’s undergraduate studies, she joined the group of Professor Craig Jamieson within the University of Strathclyde as a PhD student. Her work focused on the computer-aided drug design of BRD4 inhibitors, which was completed in 2023, with a 6-month postdoctoral position afterwards. Gemma then moved to Dundee to join the AC-BI team as a synthetic medicinal chemist. In her spare time, Gemma enjoys cooking, watching and playing rugby, and travelling.
