Aileen completed her MChem at the University of Oxford in 2011, and remained in Oxford to undertake her DPhil studies with Professor Steve Davies in asymmetric organic synthesis. Upon finishing her DPhil in 2015, she moved to the University of St Andrews to begin a two-year postdoctoral position in organocatalysis with Professor Andy Smith. She subsequently relocated to Mülheim an der Ruhr in Germany to work as a post-doc for Dr Matthew Tredwell at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung in the field of radiochemistry. Since November 2018 Aileen has worked as a synthetic chemist as part of the AC-BI team developing novel PROTACs. In her spare time, Aileen enjoys sports including running, climbing, and hiking, and also likes to cook and bake.
