Profile
Past Member To and From Dates: February – September 2019
Past Member Current Position: Research Biologist at Amphista Therapeutics
Wojciech, also known as Jay, graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences in 2009. He remained within the department to study regulation of the JAK/STAT receptor complex in D.melanogaster, forming basis of his PhD thesis completed under the supervision of Dr. Martin Zeidler. Following graduation in 2013, Wojciech explored more translational science by joining a startup biotech Celther Polska, where he was involved in the anti-cancer drug development. Taking an atypical career path, Wojciech returned to the academia to explore the structural biology of GABAA receptors in the context of anaesthetics pharmacology under the direction of Prof. Keith Miller, at Mass. General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. To further explore the interface of structural and molecular biology within the drug development framework, Jay joined Prof. Ciulli’s research group in February, 2019 as post-doctoral scientist.
Outside of the lab, Jay enjoys biking, exploring historic and natural sites as well as computer and board gaming.
