Nikolai studied chemistry at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, where he obtained his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Natalia Goulioukina. His thesis involved the synthesis and application of phosphorylated heterocycles and carbocycles. In 2015 he moved to the group of Assist. Prof. Míšek at the Charles University in Prague, where his research focused on the development of fluorescent probes for methionine sulfoxide reductase. In July 2017 he joined the Ciulli group to acquire knowledge and experience in protein-ligand interactions and structure-based drug design. In his spare time, Nikolai likes travelling, reading, watching films and playing video games.
