My name is Marek and I am a final-year biomedical sciences student at University of Dundee. I joined Ciulli lab in November 2021 to work on my master’s project, focusing on identifying E3 ligases recruited by novel PROTAC molecules under the direct supervision of Dr Oliver Hsia and Dr Will Farnaby. Prior to joining the lab I have gained my first experience in the area of targeted protein degradation working with the AdPROM system at Sapkota lab, MRC PPU. During my time at the University, I have also spent a year as an industrial placement student at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg, Sweden where I worked on assessing the feasibility of in vitro transcription-translation systems for protein expression and testing, focusing on Cas9 proteins and adenine base editors.
In my spare time I enjoy hikes and playing tennis. I am also involved in promoting Polish culture within the local community by acting as the VP of the Polish society at Dundee University.
