Lucía is originally from Galicia, Spain. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy at the University of Santiago in 2021. She joined the ComBioMed group lead by Prof. Eddy Sotelo for the External Practices in Research Groups program offered by the Pharmacy Degree, and stayed to complete her Final Bachelor’s Project in the drug discovery field, synthesizing adenosine receptor antagonists.

She stayed in the group for her thesis, and was granted the Industrial Doctorate Grant offered by the Xunta de Galicia in December 2021 alongside the spinoff Celtarys Research. She is now developing fluorescent probes for E3 ligases. Outside the lab, Lucía enjoys reading, listening to music and hiking.
