Jack earned a BSc in Cell Biology from the University of Manchester, during which he conducted a placement year at Chiang Mai university. While at CMU, he tested natural products to determine their cytotoxicity against Plasmodium falciparum parasites. He then completed a MSc in Tropical Disease Biology at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, where he then worked as a research assistant. Jack began his work at LSTM investigating anti-plasmodium drug mechanisms. He later transitioned to work on SARS-Cov-2 therapeutics, developing a screening assay for re-purposing drugs, and subsequently investigating the mechanism of action of hits. In his spare time, Jack enjoys sewing, running and music. Jack has joined the lab for a rotation as part of the Wellcome Trust Integrated Molecular, Cellular and Translational Biology PhD programme.
