Dr. Cynthia Tallant obtained her PhD in Structural Biology in 2010 from the Institute of Molecular Biology of Barcelona, Science Park of Barcelona. Her PhD work in X-ray protein crystallography included structural and functional studies of metalloenzymes and complexes with small-molecule and protein inhibitors at the molecular level. Currently, her interests are focused on molecular recognition/dynamics of protein-protein interactions and structure-based methods in drug design. In her spare time she practices five-a-side soccer, sky and tennis. She also fancies enlarging her mineral collection (270 pieces).
