Andrea graduated in Chemistry in 2011 at the Universiy of Milan before moving to Aberdeen, Scotland, for his PhD. Under the supervision of Prof. Matteo Zanda (University of Aberdeen), Dr Pradeep Sharma (AstraZeneca) and Dr Chad Elmore (AstraZeneca), he worked on the design and synthesis of radiolabelled molecules for the imaging of membrane proteins. He is currently about to submit his PhD thesis. As a synthetic organic chemist, he joined the Ciulli group in March 2015 to broaden his knowledge in structure-based drug design and biophysical methods to study protein-ligand interactions. Chemistry aside, he loves classical music, likes gym and hiking in the Scottish countryside.
