My name is Alessio and I am from Biella, a small town in the northern part of Italy. I obtained my PhD in 2013 at the University of Leicester under the supervision of Dr Helen O’Hare and Prof. Mark Carr working on the structural and functional characterization of the RNA Polymerase Binding Protein A (RbpA) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I have joined the lab to expand my knowledge and expertises in structural biology and to learn how the information held in the structure of a protein can be exploited for the development of small molecules of biological interest. In my free time I like hiking, skiing, playing squash and visit new places.
