Andreas Thomann was born in Germany and studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at Saarland University. During his studies he was working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Saarland University. These first insights in Drug Discovery and Development motivated him to write a diploma thesis. He is currently working on a joint research project between the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) and the University of Cambridge which is about the Structure-based Design of pVHL Small Molecule Probes. When he is not working in the lab, he can be found in the Muay Thai Gym, out running or enjoying an evening with friends.
