Profile

Lianne is from the Netherlands, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Groningen. After her time in Groningen, she moved to Sweden to study chemical biology at Uppsala University. In the summer of 2023, she obtained her PhD from Uppsala University under supervision of Professor Máté Erdélyi where she employed liquid-state NMR spectroscopy to answer a diverse set of research questions. Throughout her master’s and PhD, she has been involved in a collaboration with Professor Jan Kihlberg, studying the molecular chameleonicity of beyond rule of five drugs. Towards the end of her PhD, she visited the lab of Professor Tamir Gonen to further investigate macrocyclic drugs by microcrystal electron diffraction (MicroED). After obtaining her PhD she moved to Mülheim an der Ruhr in the summer of 2023 for a postdoctoral training with Dr. Christophe Farès at the Max-Planck-Institute. Here she further strengthened her small-molecule NMR skills focusing on anisotropic NMR. In October 2024 Lianne joined the Ciulli group as a postdoctoral scientist, for which she received financial support from the Swedish Research Council and the IF Foundation for Pharmaceutical Research. During her time at the Centre for Targeted Protein Degradation, she will be looking at weak intrinsic interactions using a combination of structural biology methods.
