Aitana is originally from Valencia, Spain. In July 2022 she completed her bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, at the Polytechnical University of Valencia. As part of her thesis placement under Dr. Alejandro Ferrando, she studied the interaction between plant translation factors and autophagy-related proteins. She moved to Dundee and joined the group in September 2022 for an Erasmus Internship, and she decided to stay for her PhD. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, cooking, and travelling.
