Chiara, originally from Sicily, completed her bachelor studies in Chemistry at University of Florence. During her Master’s degree at the University of Florence and Erasmus experience at NOVA University Lisbon, she developed a strong interest in biomedical research. Her internship and thesis at the GSK Vaccines Institute for Global Health (GVGH) focused on the purification and fragmentation of Klebsiella pneumoniae K antigens, earning her the “Giorgio Squinzi” Thesis Award from Federchimica.
Since November 2024, she has been pursuing a PhD in Structural Biology at the European Magnetic Resonance Center (CERM), a research center of the University of Florence, under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Rosato. Her PhD project focuses on PROTACs targeting viral proteases, and on their structural characterisation by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. She is currently a PhD visiting student in the KOODAK team at CeTPD. Outside the lab, she enjoys volleyball, travelling, and spending time with friends.
