Dundee is the UK’s first and only UNESCO City of Design. The global designation as a Creative City acknowledges Dundee’s rich design heritage, its thriving contemporary design sector and a city committed to using design to solve problems and make Dundee a better place to live. The University makes an essential contribution to this through its teaching, research and cultural activities. May is ‘Dundee Month of Design’ and to celebrate we have picked a selection of print books and e-books from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Library, covering various topics in design including interior design, furniture design, jewellery design, product design, graphic design, industrial design, disability & design, architecture & design and biomimicry & design. Dundee was ranked 6th in the UK for Art & Design in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide and the Library plays an important role in underpinning its success.
