Over the last 26 years, Dr. Angela Mehlert has worked at the School of Life Sciences in University of Dundee with Prof. Mike Ferguson on understanding the glycobiology of the parasite responsible for African Sleeping Sickness (Trypanosoma brucei).

She has championed outreach activities in the School of Life Sciences, and has created a wide range of science related knitted objects. Angela is not just a keen knitter (her favourite at the moment is socks) she also indulges in crochet, felting, embroidery and tapestry weaving.

She is a member of the local Embroiderers’ Guild and teaches at the local Young Embroidery group. As well as show casing Angela’s sci-art knitting creations, included within this website are pieces relating to her connection to Dundee and Scotland.
