The Consortium Against Pain inEquality (CAPE) is a project that aims to improve our understanding of how adverse childhood experiences could impact vulnerability to chronic pain in adulthood.

We comprise a number of scientists, clinical researchers, pain specialists, epidemiologists, psychologists and people with lived experience of chronic pain. Our team can be found here. Our patient advisory group provide us with valuable insight regarding lived experience of living with chronic pain, while our research team uses scientific, clinical, or psychological methods to determine what contributes to mechanisms of pain.
