Dr Roger Wang, Lecturer of Civil Engineering, was invited to give a keynote speech at Singapore International Energy Week on 27 Oct 2017. The event was organised by Singapore Energy Market Authority (EMA) and aimed to showcase the best practice and solutions to energy issues. He presented his research about the bio-inspired drip irrigation valve that was invented in his postdoc project. The patent-pending invention has a potential to enable millions of farmers to access drip irrigation technology in remote rural areas without the power grid. He also attended the Water-Energy nexus roundtable discussion as a panellist.
