My main research interests are in computational imaging and microscopy. Innovation in this area finds immediate applications in bio-medical research, which often operates right at the limit of current technology. To achieve this, I study how optics and algorithms can be designed as a whole. The resulting hybrid, computational, microscopes can for instance overcome optical aberrations in the human eye and enhance the field-of-view in light-sheet microscopy.

As the complexity of these systems increases, it also becomes more important to accurately calculate the light propagation in heterogeneous materials such as biological tissue. I have therefore also an active interest in the development of efficient computational methods.

["post-29","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
