Housed within the School of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Law and in partnership with the Botanic Garden’s Living Lab, SEPaL will be a leading forum for research, debate, policy development, and action for sustainable environments.

The co-creation of this interdisciplinary community will strengthen collaborations leading to impactful research, policy development, and action in the context of practice and leadership of sustainable environments.

We welcome and respect members to establish a community of Research and Impact in SEPaL; with this, our mission is to work collectively to:

  • seek out opportunities to enhance knowledge and practices within SEPaL themes,
  • build a forum capable of generating and facilitating connections, knowledge exchange, and impact,
  • establish internal and external collaborative networks and partnerships regardless of the sector, and
  • support individuals, research teams, and communities.

The community is underpinned by our core principles of:

  • Inclusivity
  • Collaboration
  • Co-creation
  • Engagement
  • Action
  • Participation
  • Innovation
