  • Year: 1976

    Media types:

    Video

    Type of work:

    Single camera/monitor interactive video installation

Technical details: A video camera is suspended from the ceiling, its lens pointing down. Below are two identical metal containers, the first filled with water, the second containing an upturned video monitor (linked to the camera). A viewer looking into the first metal tank filled with water sees his/her reflection looking back. Looking to the side at the second tank containing the monitor he/she sees an image of that water with the back of his/her head reflected in it. When moving across to view directly into that second tank he/she sees nothing but water in both. Requirements: 1 monitor, 1 video camera, 2 x custom-built metal containers
