Deirdre Cassidy completed her BSc in Physics with Medical Physics from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland in 2010. Following this, she was awarded with a Medical Research Council (MRC) PhD studentship in the Division of Cardiovascular and Diabetes Medicine, University of Dundee, UK. Her research interests have involved the assessment of arterial stiffness through cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and more recently, evidence based medicine reviews for vascular access.

Presently, she is a Marie Curie Research Fellow in the EU funded ReDVA project, a joint academia and industry partnership. To which, she has been seconded to ReDVA industrial partner, Guerbet Paris, France. She has also become an associated member to European Renal Best Practice (ERBP) developmental group which aims to review and update current vascular access guidelines.
