\"\"Dr Masoud Hayatdavoodi<\/h3>\n

Coordinator of the Summer School Scientific Topic Instructor<\/em><\/h5>\n

Dr Masoud Hayatdavoodi is an academic staff in Marine Hydrodynamics and Ocean Engineering at the University of Dundee of the UK and has close relations with Harbin Engineering University of China.<\/p>\n

Prior to this, Dr Hayatdavoodi held an Assistant Professorship position at the Ocean Engineering Department of Texas A&M University, USA, and Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Hawaii, USA.<\/p>\n

His current research activities include water wave mechanics, wave-structure interaction, marine renewable energy and impact of waves on coastal structures. He is the founding director of the MSc programme in Marine Hydrodynamics and Ocean Engineering at the University of Dundee, founding coordinator of the International PhD Summer School in Ocean Engineering, and co-chair of the International Workshop of Marine Hydrodynamics Modelling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

BinBin Zhao, Professor in Harbin Engineering University. He is in college of Shipbuilding Engineering. His interest include nonlinear wave models, internal waves, ship seakeeping and offshore engineering.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Assistant Coordinator of the Summer School General Skills Instructor<\/em><\/h5>\n

Kathleen Normandin is a Programme Manager and Student Advisor at the University of Abertay in Dundee, Scotland, UK.<\/p>\n

Kathleen has a M.Sc. degree in Higher Education Administration from Oregon State University, USA. She has been advising, teaching, and running academic programmes for the past ten years. Before moving to Scotland, she worked as Junior Specialist faculty member within the Colleges of Arts and Sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA, and as Manager of the Center of Academic Enhancement at Texas A&M, Galveston, USA.<\/p>\n

In addition to advising, Kathleen serves as an academic coach to students, and a classroom management consultant to academic faculty. She also teaches a variety of courses on Academic Success and Resiliency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"Professor Ron Riggs<\/h3>\n

Scientific Topic Instructor<\/em><\/h5>\n

Prof. Ron Riggs has been carrying out research and software development in hydroelasticity of ocean structures for almost 30 years. He is Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Hawaii and was a long-time Cooperating Graduate Faculty member in the Department of Ocean & Resources Engineering. He was department chair from 2003 until 2009, and interim dean of the College of Engineering from 2016-2019.<\/p>\n

Dr. Riggs is also the chief editor of the ASCE Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal and Ocean Engineering, and has been on the editorial boards of several other engineering journals. He is also active in the accreditation of civil engineering programs in the USA, and he is a licensed professional engineer in Hawai’i.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"Professor Solomon Yim<\/h3>\n

Scientific Topic Instructor<\/em><\/h5>\n

Prof. Solomon Yim is the Inaugural Glenn Willis Holcomb Professor of Structural Engineering and Professor of Ocean Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU). He has been conducting research on structural and wave mechanics, and coupled fluid-structure interaction systems with application in naval, offshore, and coastal engineering and marine hydrokinetics for over 30 years. He obtained his BS from Rice University, MS and PhD in Civil Engineering and MA in Mathematics from UC Berkeley.<\/p>\n

Dr. Yim was the chief editor of the ASME Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering in 2007-2017 and is associate editor\/editorial board member of a number other international journals including Ocean Engineering, Ocean Engineering Marine Energy, Marine Science and Application, and ASCE Waterway, Port, Coastal and Ocean Engineering. Prior to joining the faculty at OSU in 1987, he worked several years in the energy industry at the Exxon Production Research Company in Houston. He is a licensed professional engineer in Oregon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Soroush Aslani Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. After completing my PhD in Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, I joined the University of Wisconsin in 2014.<\/p>\n

I have taught Undergraduate, Master\u2019s, and Doctoral courses on Negotiation Strategies,Organizational Behavior, International Management, and Research Methods. I also do research on negotiation and conflict management, cross-cultural differences in negotiation strategies, and social movements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Wang earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from Harbin Engineering University in 1992, holds a Ph.D.from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has been Lead Naval Architect and Principal Technical Advisor of Aker Solutions.<\/p>\n

With extensive expertise in naval architecture, mooring\/tendon, riser\/umbilical, global engineering and integrated design of floating production systems in the offshore industry, he has key roles in major projects of the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, South East Asia, and Offshore Northwest Australia.<\/p>\n

Dr. Wang is a subcommittee member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME), an editing panelist of American Petroleum Institute (API RP 2SK), and an inventor of U.S. patents for Dry-Tree Semi-submersible Production and Drilling Unit, C-Semi with Minimum Hydrodynamic Forces, and Semi-Submersible Platform.<\/p>\n
