It looks like any other study space \u2014 six desks, a screen for presentations, and plenty of plug sockets. But the name actually has a pretty inspiring story behind it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The room is named after <strong>Louise Cattrell<\/strong>, a DJCAD graduate who\u2019s made a big name for herself in the art world. She studied Fine Art here at Dundee, finishing her Diploma and Post Diploma in 1980 before heading to the Royal College of Art in London for her Master\u2019s degree.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From Dundee to the Art World<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Louise has gone on to have an incredible career as a professional painter. Her work focuses on landscapes \u2014 not just how they look, but how we <em>remember<\/em> them and how they change over time. Her paintings have been shown in exhibitions and collections all over the UK.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in 1994, she also became one of the first-ever winners of what\u2019s now known as the <strong>Jerwood Drawing Prize<\/strong>, one of the UK\u2019s top awards for contemporary drawing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why Name a Room After Her?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cattrell Study Room is a way of celebrating Louise\u2019s success and showing current students what\u2019s possible after DJCAD.
