By using a combination of <em>in vitro<\/em> culture systems and <em>in vivo<\/em> models of hematopoiesis and leukemia, we aim to uncover fundamental biological aspects of DNA methylation and chromatin in gene expression and use this knowledge to explore novel therapeutic opportunities for treatment of blood cancers with mutations in the DNA methylation machinery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gre.dundee.ac.uk\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-155 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.dev.dundee.ac.uk\/kasper-rasmussen-lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/178\/2020\/06\/Capture-300x60.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"60\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.dundee.ac.uk\/kasper-rasmussen-lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/136\/2020\/06\/Capture-300x60.png 300w, https:\/\/sites.dundee.ac.uk\/kasper-rasmussen-lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/136\/2020\/06\/Capture.png 495w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our lab is\u00a0located in <a href=\"http:\/\/gre.dundee.ac.uk\/\">Centre of Gene Regulation &amp; Expression (GRE)<\/a> within the School of Life Sciences at one of the UK\u2019s leading universities \u2013 University of Dundee is internationally recognised for expertise across a range of disciplines and research breakthroughs in multiple areas, including science, medicine and engineering, amongst many others.\u00a0It is consistently ranked near the top of UK universities, particularly in the life sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Conveniently located on the banks of River Tay, our main city-centre campus is at the heart of Dundee &#8211; an up-and-coming, friendly, compact and affordable city with a rich heritage in design and technology. \u00a0Just a short walk from the V&amp;A Museum of Design Dundee, we\u2019re close to both the train and bus stations.
