As bronchiectasis represents a disease with no cure and limited effective treatment options, much research in the field has aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of numerous potential treatments. However, disappointingly, many of these trials have been unsuccessful and/or have provided conflicting results.
Investigating why some patients respond positively to treatment in one trial while other patients don’t in another trial of the same drug is an important research topic that is of major interest.
As such, EMBARC conducts research to better understand the differences in treatment response between individuals.
