Searching for New Medicines Resources

"Searching for a New Medicine: Kirsty's Project" is an illustrated children’s storybook by Suzanne Duce, Tracy Bayliss and illustrated by Daisy MacGowan, about a young girl with a curious nature.
Kirsty is set the task of writing a science project by her teacher. Her class visits the city library and Kirsty finds an amazing book on microbes. To find out more about these microscopic creatures, she attends an open day at the School of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee.
At the Open Day, she goes on a guided tour of the Drug Discovery Unit and she sees how they discover new medicines to treat neglected tropical diseases. Afterward, Kirsty meets some of the scientists which helps her complete her class project.
