In the workshop participants will invent creative constraints, make poetry, explore\u00a0essayism in dialogue with the film theory and film practice of two of the most influential theorists and\u00a0practitioners of gaze and counter gaze.\u00a0This event accompanies the exhibition\u00a0<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dundee.ac.uk\/cooper-gallery\/exhibitions\/aisforavant-gardezisforzerolauramulveypeterwollen\/\">A is for Avant-Garde, Z is for Zero: Laura Mulvey and Peter Wollen<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and is held online as part of Cooper Gallery&#8217;s online programme\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dundee.ac.uk\/cooper-gallery\/exhibitions\/aspaceinbetween\/\">A space in between<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sign-up<\/strong><br \/>\nThese workshop are free and open to all. No prior experience is required to participate. Participants will be writing and will be asked to have their preferred writing material to hand during the workshop (pen and paper or computer).<br \/>\n<strong>Places can be booked by emailing exhibitions@dundee.ac.uk<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter booking a space participants will be sent a link to the video call.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biography<br \/>\n<\/strong>Jane\u00a0Goldman\u00a0is Reader in English Literature at Glasgow University and likes anything a word can do. She has published widely on the Avant-garde, Modernism, Feminism, Queer Studies, and Literary Theory, often with particular focus on the politics of the visual. \u00a0She is a member of the 12 Collective, founded in 2016 at the Cooper Gallery, and she is currently a member of the Writers\u2019\u00a0Shift Crew at the Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh. Her poems have been published in the magazines\u00a0<em>Scree<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Tender<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Gutter<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Blackbox Manifold<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Adjacent Pineapple<\/em>\u00a0and elsewhere. Her first slim volume is\u00a0<em>Border Thoughts<\/em>\u00a0(Leamington Books, 2014), \u201ca little theatrical box of spectacle and light [\u2026] the living underworld of Brecht\u2019s Threepenny Opera translated into raucous girlish post-war wayward ways\u201d (Lisa Jeschke,\u00a0<em>Hix Eros<\/em>\u00a06). She is currently preparing for publication a new collection: SEKXPHRASTICS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Venue Information<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>Video call<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s2\">To access the workshop space participants are not required to download any software. A link will be sent to all participants who sign-up.
