Dundee is the UK\u2019s first and only UNESCO City of Design. The global designation as a Creative City acknowledges Dundee\u2019s rich design heritage, its thriving contemporary design sector and a city committed to using design to solve problems and make Dundee a better place to live. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University makes an essential contribution to this through its teaching, research and cultural activities.\u00a0 May is \u2018Dundee Month of Design\u2019 and to celebrate the Library has picked a selection of print books and e-books from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Library. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The books cover various topics in design including interior design, furniture design, jewellery design, product design, graphic design, industrial design, disability & design, architecture & design and biomimicry & design. Dundee was ranked 6th<\/sup>\u00a0in the UK for Art & Design in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide and the Library plays an important role in underpinning its success.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
