{"id":3773,"date":"2023-02-24T15:41:19","date_gmt":"2023-02-24T15:41:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/learningspaces.dundee.ac.uk\/dundeeuniculture\/?p=3773"},"modified":"2025-09-15T10:46:31","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T09:46:31","slug":"uod-museums-dundee-science-festival-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.dundee.ac.uk\/culture\/uod-museums-dundee-science-festival-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"UoD Museums &#8211; Dundee Science Festival 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February the 10<sup>th<\/sup> and 17<sup>th<\/sup>, the University of Dundee Museums held workshops at Dundee Science Centre as part of the Dundee Science Festival 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The workshops were based around different aspects of our museum collections. One workshop focused on our Herbarium collection, where children were encouraged to create their own species of flora and mount them on card like ours in the collection.<\/p>\n<p>The second workshop involved creating a new species of animal inspired by our D\u2019Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum. Our particular favourite was a \u2018Spinoceros\u2019 \u2013 that\u2019s a cross between a Spider and a Rhinoceros!<\/p>\n<p>The two workshops attracted over 170 people from Dundee and beyond.
