Courtesy and copyright the artists and LUX<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"xxxxxxxxxmsonormal\">It\u00a0will feature esteemed figures including\u00a0<b>Sam Ainsley and David Harding,\u00a0<\/b>who established and led the influential Environmental Art course at Glasgow School of Art which produced many Turner Prize winners and nominees;<b>\u00a0Prof. Regina Bittner<\/b>, Head of the Academy and\u00a0Deputy Director at\u00a0Bauhaus Dessau Foundation;\u00a0<b>Gudskul,\u00a0<\/b>the educational platform of Jakarta-based artists collectives\u00a0ruangrupa,\u00a0who are curating the 2022 edition of Documenta15, one of the most important contemporary art events in the world;\u00a0\u00a0<b>Serubiri\u00a0Moses<\/b>, a Ugandan curator based in New York who was one of the curators of the 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Berlin Biennale;\u00a0<b>Kapil\u00a0Seshasayee,<\/b>\u00a0a celebrated Scottish-Indian musician whose work was lauded by The Guardian as &#8220;one of the most promising debut albums to come out of Scotland in recent years&#8221;;\u00a0\u00a0<b>Ross Sinclair,<\/b>\u00a0a long-established artist and alumni of Environmental Art course at GSA\u00a0\u00a0who is now a professor\u00a0of Contemporary Art Practice\u00a0at GSA; and critically recognised artists\u00a0<b>Barby Asante<\/b>,<b> Hardeep\u00a0Pandhal<\/b>, and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xxxxxxxxxmsonormal\">The event will also screen\u00a0<i>O Horizon<\/i>, a feature-length film <b>by Turner Prize nominees, artists collective<\/b>\u00a0<b>The Otolith Group,\u00a0<\/b>which reflects\u00a0on the poetry and experimental teaching techniques of\u00a0Bengali\u00a0polymath and the winner of\u00a0Nobel Prize for Literature\u00a0Rabindranath Tagore.<\/p>\n<p>Sat. 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June (11am \u2013 11pm)Venue: Dundee Botanic Garden<br \/>\nRegister for free tickets via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dundee.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=bec5c83c5721068bccd072abe&amp;id=b7ddfd8c8c&amp;e=6bd74a4ef5\">Eventbrite<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Re-imagining art education and unsettling systems of knowledge,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dundee.ac.uk\/events\/ignorant-art-school-five-sit-ins-towards-creative-emancipation\">The Ignorant\u00a0Art School<\/a>\u00a0in the shade of trees in summertime will cultivate alternative futures, determined not by what we know, but by how we learn, unlearn, create and share knowledge together. In the words of the visionary Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore, the\u00a0<em>12 Hour Sit-in Revel<\/em>\u00a0will activate a landscape \u201cwhere the mind is without fear, the head is held high and where knowledge is free.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Inhabiting Dundee\u2019s Botanic Garden and timed by Ruth Ewan\u2019s revolutionary decimal clock, the revel will host a convivial convergence for visions and praxes of radical, ethical and accessible pedagogies that question what art education is and who it serves.
