Dundee University Operatic Society (usually known as OpSoc) Programme for production of the Grand Duchess performed at Dundee’s Whitehall theatre in 1980. OpSoc has been in existence for  nearly 60 years and is the University’s longest standing musical theatre society staging a number of concerts including one major musical a year. The University Archives preserves evidence of many of the student societies that have been in existence since the founding of University College Dundee’s first student union in 1886.
