The Slave\u2019s Lament, 2015 Four-channel colour video installation, with sound, 14 min. 27 sec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now on display as part of the landmark exhibition&nbsp;spanning 110 years titled&nbsp;New Arrivals: From Salvador Dal\u00ed to Jenny Saville&nbsp;27&nbsp;November 2021 \u2013 spring 2023&nbsp;at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Modern One)&nbsp;75 Belford Road, Edinburgh, EH4 3DR&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ghetto Priest and the Scottish Ensemble perform The Slave\u2019s Lament, composed by Sally Beamish, produced by Adrian Sherwood with additional guitars by Skip \u201cLittle Axe\u201d McDonald and drums by Lincoln \u201cStyle\u201d Scott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A song credited to Robert Burns and first published in James Johnson\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Scots Musical Museum<\/em>&nbsp;in 1792.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Made for Scotland + Venice 2015, curated by Hospitalfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work was kindly gifted to the National Galleries of Scotland by Outset UK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Graham Fagen.
