{"id":258,"date":"2019-05-02T18:28:33","date_gmt":"2019-05-02T17:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.dundee.ac.uk\/artatthestart\/?p=258"},"modified":"2020-10-26T16:59:38","modified_gmt":"2020-10-26T16:59:38","slug":"bubble-painting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.dundee.ac.uk\/artatthestart\/bubble-painting\/","title":{"rendered":"Bubble Painting"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>We were bubbling at DCA this week with a group of\u00a0babies and toddlers\u00a0and their grown ups so we thought we should post the recipe in case you want to try it at home with your wee ones.<\/h4>\n<p>You need:<\/p>\n<p>Paint &#8211; non-toxic water based<\/p>\n<p>Baby bubble bath (if it&#8217;s safe for babies in the bath it should be safe for this craft)<\/p>\n<p>Straws<\/p>\n<p>Cups and bowls<\/p>\n<p>Paper (nice thick paper which is good and absorbent is best. Printer type paper will rip and not take in the colour)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-259 size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.dundee.ac.uk\/artatthestart\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/97\/2019\/05\/bubbles-1-300x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"286\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Cover the bottom of each cup with paint and add a squirt of baby bubble bath. Top up with about twice the amount of water as paint and then mix thoroughly. You want the paint to be about\u00a0a third of the way up the cup.<\/h4>\n<h4>Then\u00a0using a straw\u00a0let children blow into the\u00a0mixture until you get bubbles making a mound that comes out the top of the cup (if you think\u00a0little ones are too small to blow and might suck instead then have a grown up do this bit). Then place a piece of paper on top of the cup and it will burst all the bubbles leaving a print.
