During this time, she undertook a years industrial position as a research associate at Heptares Therapeutics in Hatfield. Following on from Gemma\u2019s undergraduate studies, she joined the group of Professor Craig Jamieson within the University of Strathclyde as a PhD student. Her work focused on the computer-aided drug design of BRD4 inhibitors, which was completed in 2023, with a 6-month postdoctoral position afterwards. Gemma then moved to Dundee to join the AC-BI team as a synthetic medicinal chemist.
