During his doctoral studies, he was awarded a competitive grant from the Spanish Science Ministry (FPU Fellowship) where he developed a keen interest in the analysis of PTMs and their impact on cell dynamics, with a focus on pharmacological applications. His research encompassed the fields of protein biochemistry, molecular biology, cell signalling, chemical biology and drug discovery. Alejandro also spent a short period in the lab of Alessio Ciulli, gaining exposure to the area of TPD. In 2024, he started a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Fundaci\u00f3n Alfonso Mart\u00edn Escudero in the laboratory of Prof. Ciulli, focused on establishing rational principles for the design of molecular glues. He is currently supported by a Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie (UKRI) postdoctoral fellowship, aimed at consolidating his transition to an independent researcher.
