My name is Lars and I am from Doetinchem, a small but pretty city in the east of The Netherlands. As an undergraduate student I have worked under the supervision of Dr Ido Amit at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel where I used lentiviruses and CRISPR/Cas to introduce knock-outs in haematopoietic stem cells. For another project I worked under the supervision of Prof. Hans-Reimer Rodewald at the German Cancer Research Centre to generate a knock-out mouse using the CRISPR/Cas9 technology. I have joined the Ciulli lab to get skilled in biochemistry and protein interactions, where I will work on engineering BET bromodomains for targeting, and on this subject I will write my thesis, and hopefully graduate. In my free time I like to learn to play the piano, play drums, go scuba diving and discovering the world by traveling and making friends.
