Report

Our inaugural fixture against Montrose ended in a comfortable 5 wicket defeat, but was played in a good spirit despite more poor weather. We will look to keep this fixture in future years. Batting first, there were decent contributions from Colin Reid (18), Alan McDonald (22 on debut), Amar (21 with 2 sixes) but tight and disciplined bowling from the Montrose attack restricted DUSCC to a rather paltry-looking 91. Concession of a large number of extras did not help the DUSCC cause when bowling, and despite good spells from Amar (4-1-9-1) and Varun Gopalakrishnan (2.4-0-16-2) and what was described as “the catch of my life” from Alan Bell, Montrose chased down their target with 16 balls to spare.
