Report

Almond Valley ‘pulled one back’ in our best of 7 series with a 12 run win that was more comfortable than the final outcome suggests. A solid batting effort saw them to 102 in their 20 overs, Viswa (with 2) and John Southalan (with 1) taking the only wickets to fall. An increasingly familiar deck of cards metaphor can be used in respect of our top order batting, with 4 wickets down by the end of the 4th over, and 8 down by the 12th. At that point Scott Rodgers hit out in anger, striking 2 sizes in a belligerent 36; Prakash supported him well in easily the biggest partnership of the innings. However, the Valley bowling attack, looking very impressive, saw them home by 12 runs.
